Kathi Easterbrook Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Recently my grandma, Kathi Easterbrook, has been diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread to other parts of her body. After two successful surgeries to remove large portions of the tumors that left her in a debilitated state, she is making her recovery in the Emerson Rehabilitation Center. Unfortunately, the doctors could not remove 100% of the tumors and radiation therapy and chemo are on the calendar for the upcoming months.
While we are so grateful that her body is responding wonderfully to the surgeries and the physical therapy she is receiving, the medical bills are the biggest obstacle for her to get the care that she needs. We are asking for any donation to aide in paying the expenses that are piling up rather quickly, to alleviate some of the financial burden, so that she may focus on her health and recovery.
As the cancer has rendered her temporarily unable to walk, she has needed to hire a private ambulance to transport her to and from medical appointments.
The money raised here will help to pay for the private ambulance she needs to go to and from the radiation center. The cheapest bill she has received from them is $200 for a day's trip. This is a completely out of pocket expense for her. Radiation therapy and trips to the oncologist, pulmonary specialist, and orthopedic surgeon will require her to take this ambulance fairly frequently. The money we raise here will also help to pay the 20% copay she will have for her stay at the rehabilitation center.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and would help to alleviate the financial stress of this unfortunate diagnosis and allow Grandma Kathi to focus on what's most important- her recovery.
