The Grand Iftar 2020
THIS FUNDRAISING PAGE IS NOW CLOSED.
The Grand Iftar is an inclusive voluntary community project organised by Oxford Homeless Project founders Shabnam Sabir and Tayyaba Hameed.
This year we have teamed up with volunteers from Oxford Mutual Aid, Oxford Community Action, BAPS Oxford and Oxford City Council to support as many people as we can.
The Grand Iftar celebrates and connects Oxford's diverse communities, people of faith and no faith during Ramadan over an Iftar (breaking of the fast) meal.
This year, because of the Covid-19 lockdown, we are unable to meet as a city and enjoy an Iftar meal together.
Instead, on Friday May 15th, our volunteers will organise and deliver at least 1,500 delicious meals to people in our city.
Covid-19 is having a profound impact on people across our city. This is our way of celebrating our city and uniting communities during a challenging and difficult time.
Please donate to our fundraising page to help us cover the costs of offering a scrumptious 3 course ‘Grand Iftar’ meal . The more money we raise - the more meals we can provide!
Thank you!
The Grand Iftar team.
