Grandchildrens Tragic Accident

Hi, my son Adam and his family took a short vacation to the beach at Seaside, Oregon. While there, 2 of my grandchildren; Freya (3) and Oliver (5), seen in the picture above somehow pushed out a screen from their hotel window and fell 3 stories to the ground causing many injuries.

They were air-lifted to Portland, Oregon to OHSU Trauma Center and are being treated.

Oliver's condition has been upgraded from critical to stable, but he has suffered a brain bleed and multiple fractures; including skull fractures, and clavicle and scapula fractures, he is currently under heavy sedation and is being watched closely. They are doing more MRI's to further check his neck, spine and brain.

Freya's condition is better but still serious, I understand they have taken her to surgery to fix a fractured femur (leg bone), she too has multiple injuries but is alert and has been talking some and watching cartoons.

They were 263 miles from home when this tragedy struck and have a long healing journey ahead of them. There will be a need to provide housing, replace lost income, get food, cover medical expenses not covered by insurance and other necessities such as fuel for traveling. They have 2 other children who are missing their siblings and also need taken care of, it will certainly be a challenge to balance care between all their needs.

At this time I will not be sharing pics of their current conditions in the hospital, but I will post updates as I get them.
