Granddaughter of Mary Lafy lewis

Hi, everyone!

You know Mary, she got it, she keeps going. We all read her posts and send her our thoughts and prayers when this beautiful grandbaby was born on the 35th week and was placed in NICU.

And we all know about her battle with the "system" now. Although I believe that foster parents could be an absolute blessing in a child's life sometimes - this is not the case in Mary's situation.

I am deliberately staying away from the question of what is happening with the baby's birth mother - because whatever it is neither Mary nor we can help solve it.

But what WE CAN DO is to help Mary cover some of those draining costs - to appear in custody court in another state Mary has to take flights back and forth from Washington to California, and she has to ensure the roof over her head, and get transportation, and pay for legal services, etc.

All that takes a bit more than just love, strength and courage.

It takes that simple thing called money.

It takes a village.
