Grandmother Victim of Hit-and-Run

Hello everyone, my name is Sieara, and I created this go fund me page for my grandmother, Michelle Campbell. She was recently involved in the receiving end of a hit-and-run. My grandmother’s vehicle ran out of fuel on Hoffmeyer Road in Florence, SC. Just a few feet away from the gas station. She thought she could push her car the rest of the way. As she was stepping away from the vehicle, the suspect struck my grandma’s body with their car. The suspect was going about 40-45 mph according to witnesses. My grandmother was thrown in the air, literally knocking her out of her shoes, and her body landed on the busy road. The suspect continued to flee the scene. Citizens could hear my grandma’s cries from a block away. Several people witnessed the accident. Three off-duty nurses assisted until EMS arrived. My grandmother has many injuries, including fractures in her pelvis and spine, stitches on her chin and inside her mouth, and a tibial plateau in her left leg. As well as gashes on her legs, feet, hands, face, arms, and abdomen. She received surgery on her leg, which resulted in seven screws and a plate inside of her knee. She can not put any pressure on her leg for 12 weeks. It will take her a year to recover and regain the ability to walk. Extensive rehabilitation is necessary for Michelle. My grandfather, Mark Campbell, will be absent from his job for an undetermined amount of time to assist my grandmother. They will have a significant work hiatus. My grandparents will endure financial hardship due to this horrible accident. All the money from this go fund me will go towards my grandparents; medical expenses, house bills, and food.
