Grant & Breeze Holicky Lost Everything In House Fire

Donation protected
UPDATE: unfortunately we are being forced to raise the fundraising goal as their insurance company is refusing to cover a very large portion of their coming expenses (their house was built in the 70s so has asbestos and the company doesn’t want to cover almost any of the nearly 6 figure cost to clean up what was exposed in the fire).  This is on top of the most recent update the insurance company did which left them quite underinsured.  While we are very disappointed in this response, we will get them through this.  Also - check your policies!!  Don’t let the insurance groups under insure you!

Also if anyone in the neighborhood sees their black and calico cat Reese’s please reach out.  She’s been missing since the fire.

MAIN STORY:  On May 11 2024, Mother's Day weekend, Grant and Breeze Holicky, along with their sons River and Race, lost everything in a house fire.

If you are a cyclist, a swimmer, or in the community of Boulder you probably know Grant. He's both a USA national cycling swim coach and a USA national swimming team coach, is a founder of Forever Endurance coaching, a founder of Elevation Athletics, a frequent podcaster on shows like Fastlab sports, has coached multiple national champions and has had athletes on national teams in 5 different sports. But perhaps his greatest contribution has been his unwavering commitment to youth and amateur athletes, whom he supports with the same passion and devotion as the national champions he's coached. As an example, he's guided countless athletes into college athletic careers and scholarships.

Breeze is a beloved member of the Boulder and cycling communities, ranging from her work with her company Breeze Bars in the 2010s, to her work with athletes of all types as a nutritionist, to her racing throughout the front range, not to mention her untiring commitment to their neighborhood and school communities. Their boys, River and Race, 8 and 5, are known throughout the race scene for their positivity and constant energy, long blond hair and beaming smiles.

Unfortunately, a fire that started in the garage of their Heatherwood home in Gunbarrel has cost them everything. Every kid toy, every article of clothing, every electronic and tool, every piece of gear, and every single bike is gone.

They've given so much to our Boulder and cycling and swimming communities. People have careers and scholarships and incredible successes and self confidence and love for their sports and amazing community experiences because of this family. Let's give that back to them and help them get back on their feet. They need everything from kid clothes to basic necessities to new bikes so they can go out there and do their jobs.

Let's show them how much they've meant to everyone who knows them!
