Grant Thomson - Team LiveOnNY 2022 NYC Marathon

Hey everyone!
I am so excited to announce that I will be running the New York City Marathon in November.
I have joined Team LiveOnNY, a nonprofit organization committed to helping New York live on through organ and tissue donation and caring for the families touched by donation. LiveOnNY's mission is to save lives, provide comfort, and strengthen legacies through organ, eye, and tissue donation. Their vision is a world in which the power of organ, eye, and tissue donation is fully realized. They are clinicians, educators, social workers, and more who believe in, and are united around, the amazing power of donation. With passion and perseverance, day and night, 365 days a year, they work to ensure that the impact of organ and tissue donation reaches its full potential for the community they serve. In doing so, LiveOnNY brings comfort, helps strengthen legacies, and saves lives.
In 2014, my dad, Peter Thomson, tragically died in a car accident when I was sixteen. My mom, brother, and I knew there was only one way to make sense of his death. My father was able to give the gift of life and donate his skin, eyes (corneas, etc.), tissues, nerves, and bones. Since then, my family and I have made it our mission to spread the word about donation and its impact on so many lives. I'm excited to be able to make a difference on a bigger scale here in New York City and run in my dad's honor through Team LiveOnNY.
In celebration of the race, I have pledged to raise $2,500 for Team LiveOnNY! Funds raised will support LiveOnNY Foundation's public education programs for organ, eye, and tissue donation. Please consider donating to my cause and help make my first marathon even more special. Please let me know if you have any questions and I greatly appreciate your support!
With love,
