Grantchester Village Trust Cost of Living Appeal
Grantchester Village Trust is launching an appeal for more funds to help village residents experiencing difficulties resulting from the cost-of-living crisis. Energy costs are soaring, food is getting more expensive and pensions and other benefits are falling behind inflation.
At its last meeting the trustees made two key decisions. First, to renew their support for people with serious medical conditions, those receiving benefits such as Universal Credit, and single-parent families. And second, to increase the size of the grants it offers.
We anticipate that 40 households in the village (around 1 in 6) will benefit from support in the run-up to Christmas. But, as direct result, the Trust will use up almost all its reserves.
Hence this appeal.
Some of us are fortunate enough not to need the support of the Trust. Please can we use our good fortune to support our fellow villagers.
Donations are automatically eligible for Gift Aid which makes your donation worth more, and there is an option to donate anonymously.
We know times are tough for everyone, so we do thank you very much for helping us to help others.
