Grass fire halts teenager's dream. Help Mia Shortt

I'm reaching out to our wonderful community to help make a difference for an incredible girl who has lost everything. Mia Shortt is a 15 year old show jumping prodigy from humble beginnings.

Mia is a horse trainer and show jumper who has a goal of representing Australia at the Olympic. Mia has recently lost alot in a grass fire north of Seymour on Friday 17th February. I am making a call to action to help Mia and her family get started on fixing the property and replacing the things that were destroyed in the fire to keep her talent and inspiration alive.

Mia is your classic teenager, trying to navigate life with all its speed bumps. Her outlet is her horses and show jumping. Mia started training and jumping from the age of 6 and is now competing weekly in show jumping competitions. She is responsible for 7 horses which she dedicates hours per week training and riding before and after school. Despite incredible efforts from Mia and her mum & dad, Mia lost one of her beloved horses in the grass fire.

 All this money will go towards fencing, sprinkler systems around the whole property, replacing damaged items including jumps, whips, etc. and to maybe start putting down a surface for an arena.

 This evening I was blown away by the courage and resilience of this young woman. She single handedly piled her burnt show jumps into a heap and did it with her head held high. She does not have a single jump or an area to train in. All her horse fences need rebuilding.

So please.....go without your daily coffees this week or Friday night dinner and donate.... know that your donation is making a life changing opportunity to a county girl who really doesn't believe the community will see the potential in her show jumping ability. I have no doubt she will make Australia proud in years to come.
