Grassy Plains country Store

During the devastation of the 2018 Wildfires on the "Southside" of Francois Lake, the Marten's family, who own and operate the Grassy Plains Store, one of the only 2 country stores/restaurants servicing the Southside, went beyond the call of duty in service and love for their community. They stayed behind during the evacuation and worked tirelessly offering food, water, hugs and encouragement to whoever needed it. EVERY DAY, they had buffet dinners, prepared lunches, coolers of food and drinks, FREE to everyone, no questions asked....just stop, get what you need; a smile and a hug. Not once did they ask for donations or payment of any kind...that is not who they are. They did it with a smile and love for everyone!! Today, they lost their livelihood, their store, the very restaurant they selflessly offered during our wildfire season. Please!...we're asking that you search within yourself and give what you can. A dollar from everyone who see's this could mean we build them a new store. If 200,000 people in our province gave a dollar each...JUST ONE DOLLAR...!! We're not doing this because everyone in our province knows or owes these people anything, but because they deserve it. The love they have for their community and all people is above and beyond anything we've ever known.


                                       A Little About Me 
Hello! My name is Maria Ahlbrand! I am a life time resident of the Southside area and  I have known the Family that owns the store my entire life.  I've always known of the Martin's family. I can't say anything but good things about the family. I'm raising these funds to help with the reconstruction of the store, ( which talking to the owner and operator; Faith, will be happening in the Spring of 2019! Yeehaaaww!)  I will be personally delivering the funds to the family at there home. I am planning on making a GIANT check to give them. I really hope it will help them out in the rebuilding of the store. Their services have been incredibly missed on the Southside!
