Grayson Fraser

On Tuesday afternoon my 4 year old nephew Grayson was in an accident. He had fallen off a brick bbq/fireplace and some heavy bricks fell with him and landed on his stomach. Thankfully Chloe (Graysons mum) was right there and could attend to him as fast as she could.
Initially he was fine, just crying with a tiny little scratch on his stomach. After about 2 minutes he began to go downhill extremely fast.
The ambulance took Grayson to Mackay base hospital where we discovered he was bleeding internally. He was rushed to emergency surgery. Where they gave him a blood transfusion & performed a 2 hour surgery so he was stable enough to fly to Townsville University Hospital for another surgery with the vascular & paediatric team. Once landing in Townsville they decided to wait until Thursday morning at 8am to perform his second surgery. He came out of surgery at about 11:30am. The surgery went well. They found an additional 2 large holes in his stomach which have now been repaired. He had to have some of his bowel removed but we were prepared for that. They have done everything they can to save as much bowel as possible. They will perform another surgery on Saturday in hopes that the other grey areas in the bowel don’t die off. At this stage we are just worried about his bowel and a vein off his main artery. Grayson has more surgeries & a long recovery ahead of him. Hopefully the bowel is looking great and then they will close him up. He will stay in an induced coma until after 24hours of being closed up. Even with everything (hopefully) going great with the next surgery he will be tube fed for a minimum of a month.
We are being as positive as we can at the moment. Grayson is giving it his all and we have complete faith he will be up and running in no time. But please keep Grayson in your prayers.
We have started this GoFund me in hopes we can take the financial pressure off Chloe & Angus while they go through this very traumatic experience with Grayson while still caring for their other 2 children and being unable to work.
No donation is too small, anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated ❤️
UPDATE 1st July:
Firstly, we would like to thank each and every person who has kept Grayson in their prayers & donated to his family to help relieve some of the pressure with finances during this time.
Before surgery we were told there was an 80% chance he would need a stoma bag and could need to be left open. But little Grayson gave it his all and came through! He had a few more cm of bowel removed but we were prepared for that. He is now off the ventilator and he is awake and back to his usual funny self. We are so happy with the outcome. Grayson will fly through it all again!
Today we got to sit him up in a reclining chair and will be do some colouring ins with the possibility of taking him for a walk outside later.
At this stage we are just waiting and making sure all the repairs in his belly heal well. In 3 weeks they will use some dye and make sure nothing has leaked and everything is holding up good.
