Great Loss in KY Tornado
Donation protected
Almost 10 years ago, my dad bought this house with the hopes that one day we would move in there. Life happened over the years and that never happened. Over time, he was able to convert part of it into an apartment for a friend and the other part a place for my uncle Randy to live in. That house is now gone along with a doublewide he also owned beside it which was destroyed as well. These were all means to keep our family afloat and have all been lost.
We stored most of our childhood items and items from family members that have passed that are mostly gone or destroyed. We also lost my dad’s work shop which was built on my grandparents property. He used this shop for all of his side jobs that helped to support our family. Along with 20+ cars that mean so much to him and that he has worked all of his life for. We are extremely thankful that the house they live in only has roof damage and some trees down but he has lost everything else that he’s built up and worked so hard for.
My dad has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met. All of my life I’ve seen him help any stranger that needs it, fixing any and everyone’s cars, and always putting his own needs aside to help others.
He’s been working tirelessly since Friday night and going to be missing work for who knows how long trying to get this all taken care of between this house and my grandparents house that is destroyed too. He’s already missed over two months of work this year from helping take care of my grandma who was in the hospital after almost losing her life.
Thank you to everyone and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this horrible tragedy. ❤️
