Greenbriar Fire
Donation protected
On March 2, 2019, a large fire damaged or destroyed seven residential townhomes in the 8300 block of Antioch across from Shawnee Mission West High School. One can still drive by and see the boarded up windows and doors.
Owners displaced from their homes met and agreed upon Superior Restoration to complete the rebuild. Superior Restoration took the insurance money but has not completed the work and is not in contact with the residents.
The owners, many elderly living on social security, are already maxed out on insurance coverage for rental lodging and are living with family. Investigations have begun on Superior Restoration's owners, but in the meantime, reconstruction must be completed to see these folks returned to their homes and they have no funds to do so.
One owner needs $30-40,000 to repair the damage and restore her dwelling. The others will need similar amounts. Please give as you are able to bless these individuals with what has been stolen from them - their homes.
