Greenfingers Wildlife Initiative (GFWI)

Donation protected
The Greenfingers Wildlife Initiative (GFWI) is a non-profit organization based in Lagos, Nigeria and has been operational since 2012. The mission of the GFWI is to rescue, rehabilitate, educate and ensure the continuous protection of wildlife in Nigeria. The challenges facing wildlife include the proliferation of wet markets, poaching, wildlife trafficking, habitat destruction, lack of education and indiscriminate hunting of endangered species for traditional or cultural purposes.

But there is hope, since we started, we have worked day and night to ensure that the animals within our sanctuary are well catered for, receive the best treatment and many are released into protected spaces.

We rescue many endangered species such as the White Bellied Pangolin. The Pangolins are facing a major threat globally and we work to ensure that these animals are rescued, rehabilitated and released to protected spaces. Nigeria has been at the centre of the pangolin trafficking to countries such as Vietnam where these pangolin scales have been used for traditional purposes. The rate of pangolin decline across Africa is declining and we are working to build awareness amongst Nigerians on the importance of Pangolin Conservation in Nigeria.
We also wish to increase expand our Wildlife Sanctuary as to be able to conserve more wildlife species that are caught in the cross-hairs of human-wildlife conflicts

We also wish to build a wildlife clinic to cater for the numerous wildlife that are rescued and provide front-line care for them without having to travel long distances for medical care which also reduce chances of survival.
Please help us reach our goals as we are very desperate to save the lives of these animals. Please note all donations will be channelled towards the sanctuary as we work on a purely voluntary basis.
Your funds will:
- Expand our Wildlife sanctuary for to cater for the Endangered Pangolins

- Support our Wildlife Clinic for the provision of medical care for all rescued animals and the White Bellied Pangolins

- Help our educational campaign to support wildlife and environmental conservation
