Greenscape Phoenix fund

We are Greenscape Community Garden Association and over the years we have engaged with a number of groups of all ages within our community. From the setting up of the project in 2016 we have faced many challenges however, we never thought at any point in time we would have to face this. To have your project broken into and thing stolen is one thing but to come in and see all your hard work burnt to the ground in an arson attack is something else.

At the time you look to throw in the towel and give up then you take time to reflect and you realize you cannot let the scum win and destroy your hard work. The garden was set up to engage with the young members of the community to try and steer them away from the scum that carries out these cowardly attacks on good people trying to do good in our communities.

If successful with this fundraising we will look to replace all the toys, books, art activity equipment, along with play equipment for the nursery children that visit the garden and refurbish a new log cabin with seating and workstations. If successful with other money avenues we will look to rebuild a new log cabin and repair the 2 Polly tunnels that were also burnt and melted, unfortunately, we cannot replace the plant damaged this year but I'm sure we will be back bigger and better next year.

You may have seen we have raised the target amount due to the fact there were certan items that were not covered by our insurance. Our starting amount was £1500 and I cannot tell you how I felt to see so many in the community come out to support us. We have raised the target to £3000 to see if we can get close to replacing our log cabin and show the scum that did this is not going to win and destroy a beautiful community asset. If the target is not reached I'll still be so proud, grateful and humbled by the amount of support shown by our community.
