"We put on brave faces and ventured home yesterday. Destruction beyond belief yet it felt so good to be home. A long journey lies ahead for us but I have no doubt we will get through. Thank you all for your love, prayers and support - it is what's holding us up right now." - Helen Green
On May 8th, the floodwaters of the Hay River surged into Paradise Valley with a torrent of ice and water unlike anything seen before in the history of the Valley. Within minutes water and ice breached the banks while the Valley's residents scrambled to evacuate as quickly as possible. The result was instant and catastophic damage to the homes and livelihoods of those who call Paradise Valley home. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/hay-river-flood-evacuees-1.6447161

Greenwood Gardens was hit hard by the floodwaters as a river of ice and water flowed through the property destroying everything in its path. Greenhouses were completely washed away, while others were crushed where they stood. The chicken coup and garage were completely destroyed, and water in the basement of the house reached 7 feet high. The tractor and other farm equipment were completely submerged in water and silt for days.
This gofundme.com page is set up upon request from many kind people asking how they can help or donate to provide relief as Greenwood Gardens begins to rebuild from the flood.
