Greg Balas - Daddy B. needs some love

My name is Ali Balas and my dad, Greg Balas, has gotten very sick recently. He had one of his kidneys removed on account of kidney cancer 12 years ago. It's reared its ugly head again and has now eaten away part of his rib cage, is in his lungs and is surrounding his one remaining kidney. Over the last two weeks, he has gotten so ill that he may be moved into a hospice by this weekend.

I have two brothers- Devon, my oldest brother is amazing and has 7 kids of his own. Josserek, our middle sibling, has been the one taking care of my dad and is so awesome, kind and hard-working. I'm the little sister. Since the passing of our mom, Carol, from breast cancer 10 years ago, our dad has been our total rock. We are receiving some support from nurses and home-care workers and Red Cross. Some sudden occurrences of bills have appeared recently surrounding my dad's diagnosis, beyond the aid we are getting through AHS. His 72nd birthday will be April 28. Any contribution to this will be for his care and improving his quality of life for the time we've got left with him.

We are trying our very best but are having some struggles with balancing our regular day-to-day with our emotions and how this has affected us as a family.

My dad has always given whatever he could to not just us, his kids, but to anyone who needed help.

We're trying to give all that support back to him in whatever capacity we can. This is why I'm reaching out on this platform.
