Greg Bell recovery
Donation protected
Hi there. I am Greg’s son Dakota. On Monday December 11th my father Greg woke up and noticed a pain/stiffness in his right side. He tried to brush it off and he started his day like any other day. He loaded up his truck, picked up a co worker and headed to work. By 10:30 am the pain was not subsiding and despite his best efforts he could not continue to ignore it.
It was at this point that my dad got into his truck and drove himself to the Veterans Hospital in Cleveland. Upon his arrival they took his blood pressure and immediately stroke protocols were in place. 5 MRIs, 3 CT scans, and 2 ultrasounds confirmed that my dad had suffered a massive stroke. By Wednesday December 13th total paralysis had taken over. Since that date my dad has already made improvements. He made it out of the NICU into faster than we could have expected. He is finally settled into the Care Towers at the Louis Stokes Veterans Hospital in Cleveland.
During his stay and recovery my dad and I would greatly appreciate any help to assist us with any costs we will incur upon his discharge that will not be covered by the VA. Greg is looking at the possibility of a year of rehab before he can return to work in any capacity. He has a very long road ahead of him. Please continue to lift him up in prayers. Any and all help and prayers are endlessly appreciated by us both. Thank you.
