Support for Greg Chin's Family

My name is Randi, and I've started this GoFundMe campaign in memory of my dear lifelong friend, Greg Chin, and in support of the one thing he cared most about – his family.

Greg passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 6th and has left behind his best friend and ex-wife, Samantha Chin, and their three beautiful children, Zoe (17), Ruby (15), and Izzy (10). Their loss is enormous. Greg is often first described as brilliant, but countless others experienced his kindness and generosity.

Greg remained the primary breadwinner for their non-traditional family, which has left Samantha and the children to navigate a difficult road ahead. But, more importantly, Greg's children are left in a position we all pray our kids will never have to face – growing up without their Dad. Zoe won't be able to stay up late talking to him and sharing her latest favorite music artists; Ruby won't be going to the library on Sundays with her Dad or reading their favorite book series together; and Izzy and Greg will no longer be able to read comics together, watch The Mandalorian, or debate over their favorite Marvel characters. No one can fill that hole.

What we can do is the one thing Greg always put first – helping to support his family. Samantha will return to working full-time in her career of marketing communications (new job tbd, hopefully very soon). All while navigating everyone's grief, including hers. It's the story we may have heard from a friend and never imagined could happen to us.

Greg leaves a legacy of love, an endless drive to succeed, learn, and improve, a never-ending curiosity, unparalleled kindness, and a smile that lit up a room. He also leaves behind the most gifted mind we know, which will forever live on in his children.

With Zoe bound for college in one short year and Ruby quick on her heels, I know that Greg would be devastated to know they are left with little financial support to get them there. Zoe is a state champion in Speech & Debate and a gifted writer. Ruby is a brilliant STEM-focused student that dreams of attending MIT. Izzy loves Legos, but he's only 10. :) Please stand with me and support a family that may look just like yours.

If you cannot contribute financially, please reach out and check on Samantha and the kids, tell them stories of Greg, and share your condolences. It means everything when nothing seems to make sense.
