Hi my name is Scott and I am fundraising for my brother Greg
Greg
Dear Friends, Family, and Kindred Compassionates,
In the spirit of utmost humility, I am reaching out in a moment that tests the boundaries of my faith and hope. Just a few weeks ago, in July, my big brother Greg received the daunting diagnosis of an aggressive Melanoma cancer that has nearly doubled in size within the last 3 to 4 weeks. Initially discerned as a small mass, further evaluations have unfolded a more intricate reality – the malignant cell near his thyroid is pressing on his jugular vein creating a blood clotting situation and it is rapidly developing toward his lungs.
At exactly one year older than me, Greg has been the quintessential big brother and protector since I was in diapers, throughout a challenging and storied childhood. As he did then he has tackled life’s troubles with resolute heart and cheerful. Greg is my best friend and my hero.
The gravity of this situation leaves Greg with a profound sense of devastation, particularly for the potential ramifications it could have on his cherished family. Yet, even amidst this tempest, he holds fast to an unwavering optimism. In fact, he successfully beat a stage four melanoma diagnosis in 2016 by drastically changing his diet and through conscientious lifestyle modifications, fostering an environment inhospitable to cancer, thereby facilitating his body's self-healing capabilities. Unfortunately, this recent diagnosis will require him to accept an innovative approach to chemo-therapy to slow growth so that he can enroll in the radical natural protocols offered through the Hope4Cancer program.
Fully determined to combat this affliction, his resolution is not only for his own benefit, but as a testament to the power of prayer, the vitality of a healthy lifestyle, the warmth of community, and the drive of purpose for those known to him and stranger who feel compelled to hold him dear.
Greg is accustomed to being the provider, the caregiver, the stalwart support for four wonderful sons, a daughter and his wife and love of his life. After 35 years as an airline pilot, the cancer diagnosis disqualifies him from flying until the tumor is defeated. Flying airplanes has been his lifelong passion. It gives him purpose, satisfaction, and the assurance of restoring his financial stability once he emerges victorious from this battle.
As he treads the unfamiliar path of seeking help, he is fortified by faith that it is God's will that he be delivered from this ordeal. He is equally convinced that this journey is a divine design for him to experience humility, release pride, and embrace the universal cycle of giving and receiving.
Embracing courage and armed with knowledge gleaned from family, friends, and an exceptional oncologist, Greg has embarked on an aggressive route to recovery. To aid in healing, he is stepping into the Hope4Cancer three-week immersion program, a natural approach that has proved effective for two of our close acquaintances.
This course, while comparably less costly than traditional chemotherapy and other domestic protocols, comes with a substantial price tag of over $60,000. Unfortunately, his insurance does not cover this program, making it a challenge alongside the regularity of modest financial obligations. This endeavor, when all is said and done, will significantly exceed Greg’s life savings.
And so, in this moment, I step forward to ask for your assistance. I express my gratitude in advance, with immense humility, for any support that you can offer. It is my prayer that your generosity will not only support my brother’s recovery, but also contribute to a larger narrative of hope, demonstrating the power of community, the majesty of God's grace, and the healing abundance of our Earth.
With deepest appreciation, I pray for God’s hand to touch each of you and that through the miracle of Greg’s recovery, all who pray and hope for him are rewarded with more blessings than you can hold.
Greg’s natural disposition has always been to serve others with pride and honor, a commitment evident in his leadership role in helping others defeat cancer. In that, Greg has found joy in mentoring those afflicted with cancer to realize that cancer is not a death sentence and providing guidance and solutions to their most complex challenges. It truly is a passion for him to share this knowledge in hopes of others having the same fearless determination in knowing unequivocally that this will be conquered through prayer and asking Gods guidance in selecting the right path. Ever the optimist, Greg holds firm that this is just another journey of divine design for to increase his knowledge and experience to pass on to others.
We have so much still to do together. Please help me keep my big brother for a little while longer.
