Greg Gray - Support for Final Cancer Transition
Donation protected
Gregory Gray overcame severe childhood trauma to become the creator of a notable body of artwork and a dear member of our family.
A graduate of the renowned San Francisco Art Institute, Greg continued to create his artistic legacy after graduation. His work as a co-creator of the beautiful seashell-themed Christmas tree for the San Francisco Symphony's annual fundraiser; and as an exhibitor with the San Francisco Open Studios, led to further exhibits in the windows of the iconic San Francisco Department store I Magnin’s, as well as the establishment of his own studio in the Western Addition
In spite of his resolve and hopes of a promising future, the same traumas he suffered as a young African American man, led Greg down a path to long-term incarceration.
Now, as a wiser and more mature man, Greg is dealing with stage 4 lung cancer. Gregory's lifelong friends, and default family, the Tibbon/ Bruni household, have worked closely with the Freedom Project in San Francisco's Public Defender’s office and have just arranged a compassionate release for Gregory. His release, coupled with the transition of medical care will be costly. Our hope, and Gregory's wish, is that $7,500 can be raised to cover medical and initial living expenses for Greg as he transitions out of prison and into this final phase of his life.
