Greg Kobak of Hunter Excavating

Hunter Excavating is fundraising on behalf of, our valued employee, Greg Kobak who recently had a major medical event.

Hunter worked to recruit Greg to come work at Hunter Excavating for close to two years, as he was well known for his knowledge and diverse skills with heavy equipment and trucking. In June 2020 Greg decided to come aboard. Hunter vividly remembers Greg’s first day (training day). Greg was attentive to every detail and asked all the right questions. His energetic attitude to get to work and help the company grow was very well noticed!!! From that day forward nothing changed, every day Greg showed up to work he gave it 100% with no deviation. Hunter and Greg’s relationship strengthened quickly with mutual respect and a desire to feel productive. Greg and his family hold a special place here at Hunter Excavating. A new position has already been created and we are looking forward to his return to work when he is ready.

Greg has lived in Vermont most of his life, making lifelong connections. He would do anything for his wife Karey, and two children Kendra and Sadie. He always made for a happy childhood full of jokes, laughter, and equipment rides. He is one of the most caring, kind people you will meet.

On January 26th Greg was taken to the hospital having a medical issue. He was later transported to Albany and underwent a double below-the-knee amputation. He has a long journey ahead that we are confident he will face head-on and make his way back to health and independence!

Money raised will be used towards expenses not covered by insurance, help pay for the family’s daily expenses, and renovate his home to meet his needs and an appropriate vehicle.

We will also be seeking volunteers to help with the renovation of his property before his return home.
