Greg & Lori recover from house fire

My parents, Greg and Lori Melvin, lost their home in an electrical fire on February 15th. My dad was asleep in the livingroom when he started coughing from the smoke, and when he opened the den door the smoke was so thick he could barely breathe. He went out the front door, and tried to call their small dog and cat but they did not come. He realized he didn’t have his cellphone, and by the time he got to the back door the smoke and fire was already in the livingroom where he had been sitting and he was unable to get in there. In a total of 23 minutes their whole house was up in flames. Unfortunately, my parents lost everything including their home, two of their pets, all of their possessions except for what they were wearing. Everything has been a total loss and we have been unable to recover anything from within the house. We just thank God my dad was able to get out of the house safely.

We are setting this up to help them buy basic necessities for the short term like clothes, shoes and medications that were all lost. Then at some point in the future furniture, dishes, appliances and a place to live.

If you know my parents you know how selfless they are. They would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it, but hate to ask for help. If you are able to help, please do. Every little bit helps!
