Gregg Dean Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Gregg Dean was taken from us unexpectedly on July 18 and we are all heartbroken at the passing of this man who was so full of life. Many friends, family and co-workers have asked how they can uphold Gregg's memory and help support Marie and Sienna both short and long term. All donations will go directly to Marie, and will be used for funeral expenses and to help fund Sienna's education.
If you ever met Gregg, you know he's someone you don't forget. He had an extreme passion for bringing people together and instantly lifted the spirits of any room he entered. For those of you who might not have known Gregg well, or at all, his obituary is the perfect way to get to know and/or remember him. Kudos to his wife Marie for capturing him so perfectly.
Gregg J. Dean "Deaner" Began his journey home on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Age 49. Loving husband of Marie (nee Metoxen). Proud father of Sienna. Brother of Jim Dean, David (Linda) Dean, and Denise (Mike) Miketinac. Also loved by his nephews Everett (Halle) and Ruger and his nieces Lauren (Manny) and Becca (Paul). He will also be missed by his best friends, Pat and Kimmy Dolan and his Fairview Heights neighbors.
Gregg’s biggest passion was for “his girls.” He was a proud husband of Marie and was not shy about letting everyone know how much he loved her. Even more so, he was a proud dad. Sienna Marie was the light of his life. She brought him so much joy and laughter. He was a great volleyball dad, and would sit in his car for two hours and wait for her while she was at practice. He would go to every game and clap the loudest. Gregg would turn to a parent next to him and say “See number 2? That’s my girl.” Sienna never went a day without hearing “I love you” from her daddy. Gregg loved his girls.
Gregg’s other passions were golf and selling beer. Gregg has been an avid golfer almost his entire life. He was a three-time MVP at Kewaskum high school, qualified for Wisconsin State Open, was part of the UW‑Stout WSUC Golf Championship team, and was named to all-conference and all-district golf teams. The list of golf accomplishments goes on.
When it came to selling beer, Gregg was a fierce competitor. His love for his job never went unnoticed and neither did his pride in the products he sold. Gregg has been known to knock a Miller Lite out of your hand and throw it away if you walked away from it. He was very adamant about only drinking Beechwood products, and he held his friends and neighbors to the same standard. Gregg’s many relationships with breweries, bar owners, managers, and bartenders go beyond anything that can be imagined. There are no words to describe how proud Gregg was to be a part of the Beechwood family and his love for his co-workers and his boss were immeasurable.
Gregg will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a fun-loving, happy, life-of-the-party kind of guy. He wanted everyone to smile and be happy and he made it his job to be the person to make that happen. His personality was infectious and everyone who met him couldn’t forget him and looked forward to seeing him again. Gregg will never be forgotten, and his love will continue to fill our hearts. Next time you have a Gregg “approved” beer, raise your glass to him. “Why wouldn’t cha?”
