Meyer Memorial Fund

I felt compelled to create this memorial fund when I sat down with my dear friend Greg's widow Lisa and her rambunctious 2 year old grandson Zee (who they have custody of because their daughter was unable to care for the child). Greg, who would have turned 55 a few days after his death on April 15th, struggled with cancer and serious side effects from his treatments and medication over many years.

Due to preexisting conditions, he was unable to get medical insurance through most of his battle. In his attempt to keep up with the mounting hospital, doctor and prescription bills, he was forced to deplete their savings, take out a second mortgage on their home and run up credit card bills to try to meet his obligations and provide for his family.

A noble effort, but in the end, left his wife and grandson with few resources to carry on. Lisa will struggle to pay the basic monthly bills including the mortgage, food, health insurance and day care so she can work her job as a substitute teacher.

Every dollar donated will be important to Lisa and their 2 year old grandson Zee as they try to manage day-to-day life without their primary provider, husband, and granddad Greg.
