Gregory McDonald Memorial & Expenses by Daughter, Niambi

My name is Niambi. My father, Gregory McDonald, fell ill suddenly and unexpectedly on September 24, 2024 from a massive hemorrhagic stroke. Despite him having to face immediate, frightening changes such as one-sided paralysis, impaired speech and partial loss of vision, his initial state appeared to be promising of some recovery with time in the ICU and eventually extensive rehabilitation. My dad's condition however took a turn for the worst after his first few days in the ICU where he experienced two more strokes and underwent emergency brain surgery. He fell into a coma until his untimely passing just 14 days after his initial stroke.

No amount of prayer, daily visits to the hospital, or meetings with doctors and neuro specialists spared my father of his life. I could have never faced the shock and pain of losing the last of my immediate family like this without the direct support of extended family, close friends of my dad's and my own, and love from both near and far.

As my parents only living child and having already lost my mother (his wife and love of 40 years) and my grandmother (his adoring mother) back-to-back just three years ago, I am left with an overwhelming amount of clean-up and affairs to tend to, without time to really process any of this.

I hesitated to create yet another Go Fund Me after creating one in 2021 for my mother. But I am learning in life the importance of not being afraid to ask for help. It is a slow process for me, but losing my dad so suddenly is changing me. I love him beyond this world.
