Gregory’s TPIAT surgery
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Hannah Slaven(20). Gregory Cremeans(20) is my boyfriend of, going on, 4 years. We currently live in Lebanon, OH- about 35 min from Cincinnati. Gregory has chronic pancreatitis. He was diagnosed when he was only 4 years old. Since then, he has been in and out of the hospital numerous times, had multiple procedures to have stones and sludge removed from his pancreas, and has been in terrible pain. He has been going to the GI clinic in Columbus, OH at Nationwide Children’s. Hospital, since he was diagnosed. He is unable to hold a job, and has so many daily struggles. Recently, he has made the decision to go on, to do a TPIAT. A TPIAT is a complex surgery that removes the pancreas, either partially or completely. The pancreas is broken down and insulin-producing cells call islets are isolated. The damaged part of the pancreas is discarded and the islets are placed into the liver (transplanted). The biggest goal for this surgery, is to allow him, to live more of a normal life. This surgery is a 13+ hour surgery. With 6 to 7 weeks of staying at Nationwide Childrens Hospital. Currently, I am the only one earning any income. With the 6 to 7 weeks, we will be staying in Columbus, I will not be paid for any of it. We have monthly bills, that we have to pay, and other expenses for me and Gregory, during our stay. There may be times, that during this stay, I will have to travel back to Lebanon- which is a hour & 30 min drive. We have a cat, to take care of, as well. Anything will help. No donation is too small. We appreciate all of the support that we have from our families, and friends, all of these years. Thank you all in advance❤️
