Greg’s Heart Surgery

I’ve had a heart murmur since I was a child, but it never slowed me down. It’s caused by a leaky mitral valve.  It’s probably something I was born with. Through all the years of performing at Renaissance faires and taking care of kids at the Milton Hershey School, it has kept ticking. However very slowly my condition has worsened, going from moderate to severe. I’ve had severe ventricular regurgitation caused by mitral valve prolapse for the last 5 years but, again, it didn’t slow me down until the past 8 months. My condition has worsened over the last year going from severe to critical, and my cardiologist has determined that heart surgery is necessary.  I am going to have the surgery in late December or early January. I have health insurance but, with a $6,000 deductible and health care costs that my insurance isn’t going to cover, I’m  looking at a great deal of debt.  I don’t want to burden my wife and children with massive debt. I do want to keep acting and forging and living.  So with your support, I can get this operation,  make some more ridiculous comedy videos and get back to the Forge.
