Greg's Leukemia Cancer fund

Hi, my name is Greg Nofisinger, during Christmas break I was diagnosed with AML which is Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This diagnosis, unfortunately, brings with it a lot of additional costs both physical and financial which has led me to reach out for help. I've already spent just shy of a month in the hospital receiving chemotherapy. I'm in remission now but the battle isn't even half way through. We live in LaCrosse, WI and my wife Deb and I decided to partner with Mayo in Rochester for the bone marrow transplant. When we made that decision we weren't aware of what that would all entail. First off Deb will now become my caregiver 24/7 and as a result, she won't be able to work. Because I'm the one sick and not her short-term disability isn't an option for her while being off of work. Second, we were notified that once they find a match we will have to relocate to Rochester due to the fact I can't be more than 15 minutes from Mayo for 3-6 months which will double our living expenses. The best hope for success with fewer complications is a bone marrow transplant. This means finding a donor. If the donor happens to be a non-relative we are responsible for their travel, stay, meds and procedure. With everything they are telling me I could easily be out of work for up to a year. Hopefully, I would be strong enough when we get back home that Deb would be able to go back to work after the 3 months. We of course would still need to do monthly visits in Rochester until I'm told I'm in full remission. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
