Rosie's life saving surgery
Donation protected
Hello, we are the Sowards family and we have been so blessed to have the most amazing pug in our life. She goes by Rosie. The most independent, smart, funny girl. She suddenly became very sick and painful. Luckily Rosie's mom has a lot of smart veterinarian friends and coworkers who helped us find out that Rosie has a large mass in her abdomen that is making her sick. Rosie needs surgery and a possible blood transfusion and we are being quoted 4-6 grand for it. We need help from family and friends to make this happen. We are going to max out every credit card and every cent in the bank and we are still going to be short. I am begging you if you have any free dollars that you could send out way it would be so appreciated and we would be so grateful. Rosie is only 9 and we are not ready to say our goodbyes. Thank you.

9pm update- she got out of surgery around 4pm. She did well. Doctor said it was straight forward. The mass had bled a bit into the abdomen and she needed the blood transfusion. She has tolerated it well. Her pcv pre surgery was 26 and post is 28. Dr is hopeful. Next update around 10am tomorrow.

10:45 am 11/26- doctor called. Was pleased with improvement and pulled her catheters! Said she was a bit quiet and wanted us to visit with her to see if she would perk up. She was wagging her tail to see us so we were able to take her home!!!!!!!!!!!!! So far she has been verrrrryyyyy sleepy but has been able to walk around and eat some chicken/rice. Dr says he will likely head back about the pathology in 72 hours. She has already jumped so many hurdles and has a few more to go before we are out of the woods but we are hopeful and so thankful for this time to love on her.

Final update:
Rosie's mass has come back benign!!!!! We literally cannot even believe that we have been so lucky. TWICE!!!!!!!! (If you didn't know my other pug (who is not related to Rosie) ALSO had a mass on his spleen removed that was ALSO benign). We are just so overwhelmed with the outcome with all of this and I think we need some time to process it all! But in the meantime we are snuggling our babies close. In the end between care credit cards (two of them), the go fund me AND timberline ER giving me a discount for being a vet assistant we would NEVER have been able to afford this. We had to come up with a VERY large amount of money in a VERY short amount of time and a lot of people are not as lucky as us and have to make decisions that I can't even think about right now. I'm just so incredibly grateful for our friends and family ❤️ thank you so much.

We are planning on sending out thank you cards very soon and most will be hand delivered but If I do not know you personally please email me if you would like a post card from Rosie!
