Support Oakland's Griffin Family
Don protégé
Please support the Griffin family of Oakland as they move forward following the sudden and tragic death of their mother.
Recently, the Griffin family traveled to Florida, for what was supposed to be a normal trip to help a family member pack up their belongings and relocate to California. The mother, Christina Marie Davis, stayed behind, as the children were accompanied by their father and grandmother.
While the family was away in Florida, tragedy struck and Christina was involved in a car crash that resulted in her death and the deaths of her sister, her sister's boyfriend and her nephew. Christina leaves behind seven children, ranging in age from 5 to 15 years old. Six of the children attend schools in Oakland: Bridges Academy, Alliance Academy, and Castlemont High School. The children have now been stranded in Florida for weeks with no way to get home.
Thankfully, because of a generous donation from United Airlines, the Griffins will be coming home to Oakland on Saturday afternoon, May 12. (They fly into San Francisco International Airport at 12:30 p.m.) After an extremely exhausting and emotional last few weeks, the family will finally be reunited, able to properly bury Christina Marie Davis and hopefully begin the healing process.
But her death also leaves the family struggling for ways to make ends meet. Please help us support these young people as they restart their lives without their mother.
