Griffin Slezewski - Beat Leukemia
Donation protected
Sunday January 27th, Griffin and family received news that no one ever wants to hear. Griffin was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
The Slezewski Family can’t thank everyone enough for the tremendous outpouring of love and support. God bless you all!
Griffin's chemo is slated to begin today, Tuesday the 29th. While the chemo “should” kill all the bad blood cells, it will also kill his good white blood cells, which are the ones that fight off infection, so he will be extremely high risk for other issues. He is expected to be hospitalized for pretty much the entire course of treatments, which will take 5 months! The first 28 days will tell us a lot, because every patient responds a little bit different. We pray for the best.
This will be a long hard road for Griffin and family. Prayers are most important, and good medical care which I'm sure he will recieve, but this will also incur substantial cost as insurance only covers a small portion of the costs for this extended treatment. Please join me in providing financial support as well as prayers and good wishes. The wrestling community is a brother and sisterhood, so I ask that family for support as well. We will also formulate an event in the coming months.
