Griff’s Memorial

Donation protected

SSgt Travis Griffin  was nearly nine years into his military career, when he volunteered to deploy to Iraq. His year long deployment training Iraqi Police Officers often brought him into direct contact with enemy forces.

On Apr 3, 2008 while on patrol in Baghdad, he was killed in action when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device.   He was scheduled to return to the United States just a few weeks after his death.

SSgt Griffin, or Griff to his friends, was an incredible son, brother, father, and teammate. His charismatic personality and ability to find humor in any situation was a comfort to those who served with him. Though his job as a USAF Defender was dangerous, he excelled in every aspect, always with a big grin on his face.

Griff’s son was just a small child when his dad was killed.  Through the years many of Griff’s teammates and friends have worked to remember him with a small scholarship. This year, 2021, Griff’s now grown son will be graduating high school. We can think of no better way to honor Griff, this year, than to aid his son in pursuing his academic.  All proceeds will go to Griff’s son for his upcoming college expenses.

if you can’t donate, we ask that you please pause with Griff’s family and friends on3 April 2021 at 7:00pm/1900 EST as we all remember his service and sacrifice.

Until Valhalla Brother.
