Grizzly Dueck Recovery Fund

Donation protected
When Chad Dueck went bow hunting for elk on Tuesday night, he met a Grizzly sow with her cubs. Although he initially tried to scare the bear away, the bear wanted more than a shouting match and came after him.

Following their hand to paw combat, Chad sustained serious bites to his cheek, neck, right bicep and left butt cheek in addition to being mauled all over. Once the bear retreated, he was able to call for help and was taken to Cranbrook and airlifted to the Calgary Foothills Hospital. He has suffered deep flesh wounds, minor  nerve damage in his face and damage to his saliva gland in addition to a body full of claw marks and the trauma of the fight. Chad continues to say how grateful he is for his life, limbs and his eyes!

However, his road to recovery will be a challenge as he is self employed and also without extended health benefits or disability.

To show our support, we've started this campaign to give Chad's friends, family and community an easy way to show him some love and support for the road ahead. Chad's medical bills and recovery time will be a heavy financial burden, but together we can help him out!
