Ground & Pound Coffee - Covid-19 Relief Fund

Ground & Pound Coffee was founded by Curtis Short and veteran stuntwoman Sophia Crawford.  We opened GPC October 9th, 2019.  Our goal was to provide the best COFFEE and TEA while at the same time creating a relaxed, comfortable space for everyone in the community to enjoy. We have succeeded! 

Business was growing each month, we were adding new food items to our menu, obtaining a liquor license, and the best live music for our customers and then we were abruptly forced to shut down due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

We shut down the shop for 3 weeks while we worked on a website to provide an online ordering system for curbside and take out.  Business was back but we were down 80% compared to what were were doing before the shutdown.  As restrictions started to lift slightly in Georgia, we removed 50% of our seating following social distancing guidelines and started to provide inside dining and a place for people to work.  Each month we have been growing gradually, our trend line is going up.  However, we are behind on rent and bills for the time we had to shut down and the loss of business.  Please understand that business is picking up, the future is bright but it's all about catching up and moving forward. 

We get asked the question, "Have you been able to take advantage of PPP or any of the federal programs for small business?".  The answer in NO.  We are owner operators and we do not pay ourselves because all the money goes into the business.  That's what entrepreneurs and small business owners do for the first few years of a new business. 

Our goal is $50,000 to cover 3 months of past rent and cover the difference in future rent until sales come back, utilities, supplies, inventory and machine/equipment maintenance (La Marzocco espresso machine, coolers, freezer).

We absolutely love this community that we have built  our coffee shop around.  We built it from the ground up and we want to keep it going.  Please help keep your coffee shop going for you,  our customers who now have a second place they can call "home".
