Ground Floor Guitar robbery
Donation protected
On Friday, July 1, at 3 pm, Ground Floor Guitar was robbed. Shop owner Johnny Svatos and 3 of his customers were held at gunpoint and locked in a bathroom while the shop was looted. Along with cash, over $20k of musical instruments were stolen.
This go-fund me is being started to help Johnny replace inventory, cover operating expenses and labor, and allow him time to heal and decompress from such a traumatic incident. The world is a dark, complicated place, and you have to ask yourself why things like this happen to such good people. The person who robbed Johnny was having his guitar strings changed prior to pulling out his pistol. Being who he is, Johnny was changing the dudes strings for free to help him out. Ground Floor Guitar is a special place for the Omaha music community, but anyone who’s ever been there knows that Johnny (along with Sam, Pitts and Hank) is the shop. Always ready to help and greet everyone he meet’s with a smile, Johnny is the epitome of what a small business owner should be. Hardworking, honest, fair and above all, kind. Johnny is one of Omaha’s truest dudes; to know him is to love him. His pure love and dedication to rock n roll are matched by his passion for his friends, customers and humanity.
Please join us and help Johnny and GFG get through this so he can return to doing what he’s worked so hard to build.
