Groundswell Coffee Barista Pay During Shutdown
Donation protected
There's currently a mandatory shut-down in Chicago for all restaurants due to COVID-19. Although in the best interest of the public health, our hard-working and friendly baristas will be left without pay for two weeks. We'll continue to actively seek alternative sources of revenue for these two weeks, but are certain it won't be enough.
A plan funded 100% by the company would be ideal, however, like many small businesses; tight margins, and aggressive debt repayments have left us unable to fully help everyone like we wish we could.
Payroll for 17 baristas is $12,000. The next pay-date is 4/3 and funds would be needed by that date. 100% of the funds will go directly to the baristas of Groundswell. We have such a great, loyal customer base within our community that I'm confident even a small amount from most people reading this would be an enormous help!
