Group home for medically fragile kids in Spokane
My name is Sam Grove, my son Isaac has an unbalanced translocation chromosome disorder resulting in the need for 24 hour skilled medical care. He needs this care for breathing, eating, and all of his daily needs. He was placed in the only group home for medically intensive children in Spokane for the last 3 years. That facility was closed by the State on July 8th, 2019.

At the time, there were 7 other children in that facility plus Isaac. Being that it was the only facility in Spokane, all the other kids were sent at least 125 miles away to other facilities or hospitals across the state away from their families and loved ones. I have been in contact with Ashley House. They are a non profit organization that runs 5 group homes for disabled children on the west side of the state. They have agreed to open a facility in Spokane as soon as they can secure the funds to purchase and renovate a home and supply 2 handicap vehicles for transport. They will need approximately 1.2 million dollars to open this facility. Sacred Heart has confirmed the need for such a facility and are supportive of myself and Ashley House in our efforts to move this project forward. Aside from providing a permanent home to medically fragile children, they will also be able to provide temporary respite care for families who have their children at home who need a break or have other family emergencies. Please consider donating to this cause. You will be helping many Spokane area Disabled Children and their families.
Your donations and prayers will be greatly appreciated.
