Support Gryffin & family in his medical journey

Funding Goal Update: We exceeded our original goal of $3000 thanks to your love and generosity. Because of your generosity, we were able to raise our goal to more fully meet their needs. Additionally, the Cavender family plans to use a portion of these funds to contribute toward an AED for a school in need, because an in-school AED was lifesaving for Gryffin. The Cavenders feel so blessed and encouraged by the outpouring of love and support they’ve received, and they send their deepest appreciation to you all. Thank you.
On October 18th, Gryffin, a 3rd grade student in Putnam County, West Virginia experienced cardiac arrest during gym class at school. By the grace of God he is on the road to recovery, but there is a journey ahead, and you're invited to lighten the load of Gryffin and his family during this journey.
If you have the privilege of knowing Gryffin, you know he has a huge heart and is full of kindness. And if you know his wonderful family...it's clear why Gryffin is so special and loving.
In a social media update, his Mom said, “We are praising God for saving his life…as this could have easily been a very different outcome. Gryffin has regained his verbal and visual skills and is maintaining all vitals on his own! This is a miracle!! We are thanking God for putting such an amazing community around us who have covered us and carried us in prayer! This has been so incredibly difficult but we know that God has given us grace to withstand the most unimaginable of circumstances. We cannot praise His name enough for saving Gryffin!… We know that God has had His hand on our boy through this entire thing! We praise Him for all He has done and continues to do! God surrounded Gryffin with school staff as well as first responders whose quick action saved his life! He also received wonderful immediate care at CAMC Women’s and Children’s and has now been transferred to the amazing care of the team at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Nationwide has diagnosed him with a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy….We will be in Columbus until an IPDD is implanted. Prayers for that to go smoothly as well as all future surgeries or procedures.”
During this medical journey the Cavender family will incur many medical and travel expenses. This fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity for us to show Gryffin, Nathan, Leigh, and Phoenix that they have family, friends, and a community who care deeply about them. Whether you donate or not, please lift Gryffin and family up in your prayers.
A note from the family, "...It is hard to express the depths of our gratitude for each and every one of you! We are completely overwhelmed by the amazing community that has surrounded us during this time. Thank you is not nearly enough! We pray that God will bless you, as you have been a tremendous blessing to us!
