GTMA Classrooms Destroyed Due to Flood in School

Over the weekend, Germantown Masjid Academy (GTMA) experienced flooding in its entire school building. The flood penetrated through all 3 floors of the school, causing structural damage to walls, ceilings, flooring, and electrical wiring in several classrooms and bathrooms.

Staff and students are currently displaced and the school is operating from its temporary shelter-in-place location until the building is repaired and deemed safe for daily operation. The school must undergo demolition and full restoration of the affected areas. This includes drywall, finishing, painting, flooring, trim, lighting, electrical wiring and related repairs.

The current GoFundMe campaign is a plea to the public to assist us in the restoration and repair of our school, in order that students and staff may return normal school operations in the coming weeks, insha Allah.
