Hi Everyone!!!!! This is a support page for my son Tervelle “Xavier” Lee Jr. He is a rambunctious, courageous, and hilarious 13 year old who is unfortunately battling his second battle with cancer. On December 10th of last year, Xavier fractured his right femur bone while playing basketball at school and was immediately rushed to USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital where he underwent an ORIF to his right femur. His Orthopedic took a biopsy of his bone marrow and the pathology report returned with unfortunate news. On December 17th he informed me that Xavier’s biopsy resulted with cancerous cells and after review by oncology that it was diagnosed as Pleomorphic Sarcoma. After several test that were taken during our holiday break, the scan results revealed that it was localized in only his right femur but his left lung has one nodule and right lung has two nodules that seem to be growing at a fast rate. Xavier’s oncologist have consulted with many different Oncology Boards for a treatment plan and there were several consultations and we’ve decided to go with a physician from Stanford University who presented us with a cure for this specific disease. It calls for 6 chemotherapy treatments over a course of 18 weeks. Then a major surgery to remove a portion of his right femur bone and replace it with an inside prosthetic with a procedure called bone salvaging. This will prevent amputation of his leg and preserve him and his appearance. Radiation therapy is still on the table but it is only an option if needed. This page is for you as our Facebook family to be informed of correct and precise information about our son. Any fundraisers or benefits that have been approved by his father and I will be posted to this page so you will know that we are aware and your donations will go directly to the well being of our son. We truly do appreciate each and everyone of you. Please continue to believe with us that #Itsalreadydone and that God has already healed him because belief without works is dead. We love you guys and God bless each and everyone of you.
Recent Update
Due to Chemo being unresponsive in the bone Xavier underwent a biopsy under imaging to ensure that enough tissue was taken to properly diagnose him. He now was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma Stage 4 and began a targeted therapy medication called Pazopanib. This medication was working but in August 2020 after a series of scans Xavier’s tumor showed a growth of 2mm. So we decided to take him to MD Anderson in Houston Texas and they sent orders to USA Children’s and Women’s to start the osteosarcoma chemo protocol. This protocol is 10 weeks long and that includes breaks in between chemo. Xavier will also have his right leg amputated after chemo which we have discussed this with him because he is now 14 and very much able to make decisions about his care, and he is very optimistic about what has to be done. We ask that you keep us all in your prayers.
