Huracan Maria Farmers Relief Efforts
Donation protected
¡Hola! My name is Stephanie Monserrate and I'm part of a collective of young farmers called Güakiá Colectivo Agroecológico in Dorado, Puerto Rico. Our island is in severe shock and still with a lot of needs due to hurricane Maria and Irma. Our mission as an agroecology collective is to produce not only food, but "good" food one that comes with education and food justice to our nearby communities. Güakiá had just signed contract when the hurricane season started we didnt get to farm but in Dorado the communities are still in basic needs of electricity and home essentials. Most of them lost their homes, shops, personal materials, evertyhing!! Any type of donations can help change these peoples lives and help us at the same time start producing food sovereignty in Puerto Rico. What do we need for the community: *Canned foods * Water Bottles *Water Filters *Personal Hygiene Material *Clothes *Shoes *Tarps *Medicine *Baby Material: food, diapers *Mosquito Repellent *Solar Light, bulbs and accesories What do we need to start farming: *Seeds *Tarps *Farming Tools *Chainsaws *Wood Chipper *Harvest Baskets *Farmer/ Food Scale *Solar Gazebo We are documenting everything from the trajectory to the destinations of these donations.
