Guanaja Island Fire Relief

Donation protected
On Saturday October 2nd my little hometown was destroyed by a raging fire that started at 3am. Families on the island were awaken by smoke and screams. They watched their homes be consumed by flames. The fire lasted more than 12 hours and over 130 families lost their homes. On the island there is no fire department but there is a united community like no other.
Women only had time to pick up their kids and transport them to a neighboring Cay as men and young boys did all they could to stop the fire with pipes and buckets of water.
Many people were hurt and injured during the fire as they made valiant efforts to fighting it with no fire gear in sight.
There is a lot of pain and sadness in the community where i was born and raised. People lost everything they've worked all their lives for in that fire. Currently they are staying at a neighbors house and at temporary shelters. Children don't have a comfy bed to sleep on, clothes or shoes to wear, or a place they can call home. I created this GoFundMe page to ask for a small donation for those who lost everything. The money will be used to help buy supplies and hopefully rebuild their homes. Whatever you can give goes a long way, no matter the amount.
