Relief for family suffering from illness

When it comes to troubles, "everybody's got something." Some people, however, seem to have everything.  I have watched my wife suffer for 12 years from a life-consuming illness that has only recently been diagnosed as fibromyalgia. Although not uncommon, it is very difficult to diagnose due to the myriad of symptoms involved. Along the road to diagnosis my wife found several other medical issues that needed to be addressed. Some of them are also without cure and insurance doesn't cover treatment (which includes medications that cost $250/month.) Some of the things this incredibly strong woman has put up with are intense and constant pain in the entire body, exhaustion and fatigue that make activities of daily living very difficult, anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating on things and cognitive difficulties, being unable to walk, chronic headaches and migraines, numbness and tingling, itching and burning, PTSD, nausea, and many other things. I cannot begin to understand her suffering, but I can see it. A "flare up" can come without warning and last for weeks. At one time, my wife and I were all dressed up to go out on a long-awaited date, only to find she wasn't able to get out of the car. My wife has had the option of a career robbed from her, despite her work ethic and Baccalaureate. Symptoms have made her change jobs often, and the last time she was able to work as a reliable part-time employee was in 2015. Some of these funds will be used to lessen financial burden caused by unemployment and allow her some relief from money worries so she can focus on raising our daughter. Common treatments for fibromyalgia pain and symptoms have either failed or are not an option for various reasons. I would like to see my wife able to explore alternative treatment, but insurance doesn't cover things like acupuncture, massage, or experimental therapies. With the raised money, she will be able to continue her search for relief and not lose hope on living life well again. It's only fair that she use her "good" days to enjoy and care for her family and love life as she can, because so much time is spent in suffering.  It is an incredibly hard and humbling thing to ask for help, especially for something out of your control and so personal.
