The Gugg, a cherished arts and social centre in Stalbridge, Dorset, is at risk of being lost forever. With its ACV (Asset of Community Value) status, we have just 6 months to raise vital funds and secure its future.

What Is The Gugg?
More than a building, The Gugg is a vibrant hub of creativity, connection, and community. It’s where people come together to make, share, and celebrate.
Here’s what The Gugg offers:
Spaces for Creativity
- Gallery: The Milking Parlour showcases local artists.
- Craft Spaces: Art Barn, Textile Loft, Potty Shed.
- Performance Areas: Dutch Barn Stage.
- Studios: 6 artist studios supporting local creatives.
Regular Events
- Weekly Open Mic Nights (60-100 people per week).
- Art and craft workshops (4+ per week).
- Programmes like Guggleheads (arts for children) and The Guggles (peer-led music groups).
Supportive Groups
- Coffee Companions, Knit & Natter, Carer’s Craft Days, and spinning groups.
- English and craft classes for Ukrainian refugees.
Community Impact
- Last year, over 5,000 people used The Gugg to create, learn, perform, and connect. We’ve hosted:
- School children and community celebrations.
- Local bands, opera nights, and comedy events.
- Food larders and craft days for carers.
