Our father had struggled for three years with lung cancer as a World Trade Center survivor, but he was a strong man and we all hoped against hope that he would be there for years to come: to see his grandchildren grow and become young men and women that he could be proud of, to live out his dream of building a home in the hill valleys of Puerto Rico alongside my mom ane enjoy his last years of retirement.
He was a strong man and we always made to feel sure that he would beat this enemy that threatened all his hopes and dreams and that of my mom.
Unfortunately, after several operations to remove several cancerous tumors from both lungs and months of chemotheraphy treatments, our father, Guido, was hospitalized on New Years Day of this year with severe hemmoraging and went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 4, 2016.
It was such a shock to all of us. As his son says, he was SUPERMAN: a SUPER father, a SUPER husband, and a SUPER AMAZING grandfather. He will be terrribly missed.
As you may know the costs that come with death are a financial issue when you are not prepared to receive the news of the death of your loved one and subsequentially must deal with the immediate after care. The amount that we need to raise will help cover the funeral costs and travel to place his remains in his final resting place.
We are hoping to be able to raise this amount in time to cover the costs before departure next week so as to minimize any unnecessary debt.
Any and all contributions would be greatly appreciated by our family.
May God bless your hearts.
