Guitar Smith Customs Purple Heart #4 thru #13

Donation protected

The Purple Heart Guitar program rolls on, now securing donations for the 6th guitar of the series. This campaign is actually to help build 10 guitars in the series...#4 thru #13 . Help me put a Guitar Smith Custom guitar in the hands of a “Hero”.

My name is Eric Smith and I'm a full time teacher and part time luthier from Allen, Texas. I've been building guitars for about three years. A couple of years ago I built a guitar out of Purple Heart wood and presented it to Carl Hutchins, a fellow Texan who received a Purple Heart for his service during Vietnam and is also an active musician. It's my way of saying thanks to a hero for his sacrifice to our country. In doing so, I thought "Why stop there?"

Unfortunately, I don't have the personal resources to provide a custom built guitar to every Purple Heart recipient, but maybe others would be willing to contribute to help. It's been said that music can heal, so what better way to help heroes heal than by putting a one-of-a-kind guitar in their hands.

This campaign is to raise the funds for making the 10 guitars. For each $500 raised, I will build a new guitar and find a worthy veteran. It will be custom built and personalized for the chosen individual to include their name, rank, branch of military graphics, and any relevant tour of duty information. It will also include the names of the individuals that were responsible for the necessary contributions to make the guitar a reality. Once the guitar is delivered to the recipient, I hope to get photos of the Purple Heart guitar with the individual and forward them back to those who donated so you will know how your donation impacted their life.

I can't do it by myself, but with your help I can contribute the time and craftsmanship to put a great instrument in the hands of a hero.
