Dear Friends and community members, Some of you may have heard of the story on the news there was a shooting on 4/2/2023 at the McDonald's on County Line Rd in Lakeland. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law were the victims of the senseless act of violence. Rebecca is one of the strongest women I've ever met but she does need your help today and for many days to come. Becca as we all call her is in critical condition and is facing 2 more surgeries before she can even begin to start the recovery journey. Becca is the mother of two children and wife to my brother-in-law so many people depend on her and she needs our help!!! Becca was shot while doing nothing more than trying to get dinner in a drive-thru the night of 4/2/23. The car behind them was impatient with how long everything was taking and was looking for a fight, Becca and David tried to avoid the situation multiple times before they had to defend themselves. Once they tried to leave the parking lot the car pulled up next to them and began to shoot into the van multiple times. My brother-in-law David was shot once in the arm but my sister-in-law Becca was not as lucky, she was hit in the neck and shoulder and has been in ICU for the last few days. Currently, the van that they had was their only means of transportation and it is in police custody for evidence along with their wallets phones etc. So transportation for her husband to get back and forth to the hospital has been difficult. And we all know bills continue to come whether we are well or not and she was the only income in the home at the time. Any donation big or small will help and will go to bills, transportation and medical expenses that are going to arise. Becca needs our support!! If you do not have the money to donate please just pray for her anything and everything helps right now. UPDATE: 4/20/23 Becca is safe and at home to finish recovering. We are amazed that she is home and still fighting as much as she is. This has been a long few weeks for her mentally and physically. We appreciate all the support from everyone its been amazing to see the support we received. Thank you and please continue to pray for Becca she still has a lot of recovering to do.
