Gunner and Anastasia surgeries and recovery
Donation protected
Hi my name is Jessica Bos. I am making this for my sister Audrey-Ann Smith and her husband Brian Smith. Audrey is a Disabled Veteran from the Army and still continues to work as a federal employee full-time. My sister works full-time as a federal employee to fund the rescue you along with her husband who works full-time; Everything at the rescue is paid for by them. Together they run a rescue ranch in Roy, WA called Loved Ones Ranch. Loved Ones Ranch has horses, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, and dogs, where most animals were rescued from situations. The ranch also helps people with their PTSD, other issues and their families along with work events. At these healing meetings she lets the people play with the animals or feed them and just interact with them.
Gunner is her 22 year old horse who accidently ate something foreign somehow it caused Colic which caused multiple emergency vet visits with multiple visits during the normal hours. Gunner needed fluids and would not drink any water on his own for almost a week. He is starting to improve slowly but surely but very expensively. Gunner alone pushed our finances over the edge alone.
Today poor Anastasia was jumping out of the side-by-side and got her leg hooked in the crossbar where she continued to yank on it before my sister could get to her. Due to Anastasia doing this it broke both her bones in her leg severely and an emergency visit to the Tahoma Veterinary Hospital. Right now she is sedated and has a splint on and will be until the vet says it is time for the surgery to place the plates which will be a massive surgery. Sadly and heart breaking our family does not have the money to cover these bills. My sister and family already have Care Credit and it is maxed out from Gunners' Colic bills alone.
She is not someone to ask for help but I am asking everyone and anyone to please. If you can please help with their vet bills and the long recovery road ahead they will have. She cares about her animals as much as anyone would care about their own children. They are not animals to her they are her babies. If you cannot donate please say prayers for them and us. To keep update you can also go onto Facebook and type in @Loved Ones Ranch.
