Gurdwara Vandalized - Help Us Secure with a Fence
Tax deductible
In the last 2 months, there have been four incidents of Vandalism at the Gurdwara Sahib Khalsa Darbar, Charlotte. With each incident, the damage and intensity have increased. Earlier this week, on Jan 3rd, a window near the Divan Hall was broken, spreading glass across the floor. On Jan 5th, we found that the Gurmat School room windows where kids learn Keertan and Tabla were also damaged. Lights and cameras were also targeted. We urgently need your help with installing a fence and a gate. We have received three different quotes and estimates are around $60-80K.
Gurdwara Sahib located in South Charlotte runs a Gurmat school attended by more than 40 kids and covers Punjabi/Gurmukhi, Gurbani Meanings, Virsa/History, Keertan, Tabla and Leadership classes. Weekly Sunday Divaan programs have a focus on Keertan as well as the Hukumnama translations. There are monthly Youth led Divaans, speeches, Kavitas and several sangat led initiatives. This is Sangat's Gurdwara Sahib and we need contribution help from everyone. The sewadaar families have raised around $10K so far. We need help with the remaining funds. Any donation will make an impact. All donations to the Gurdwara Sahib through this page (run by Sikh Educational Foundation of the Carolinas) are tax-deductible. 100% of the donations will go straight to the Gurdwara account and will be used towards the project.
Thanks in advance for your tax-deductible contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
